Get Ready for a Thrilling Voyage: $1 Billion Cruise Ship to Feature Ocean-Dangling Swings
Prepare for an adventure like no other as the world's first $1.25 billion cruise ship, the MSC World America, sets sail with a groundbreaking feature—an enormous swing that suspends passengers over the vast ocean expanse.
The heart-pounding experience, designed for thrill-seekers, promises to be a highlight of MSC Cruises' latest vessel, offering an adrenaline rush amidst the serene seascape.
Known as 'Cliffhanger,' this innovative design was unveiled in Switzerland on Tuesday (9 April), marking a milestone as the 'only over-water swing ride at sea.'
Positioned atop the MSC World America's top deck, Cliffhanger offers an exclusive experience with just four seats, ensuring a unique opportunity to hang over the ship's edge.
MSC describes the ride: "Cliffhanger’s four seats start off close to the deck before powered arms lift them into the starting position - up and out over the edge of the ship. From there, riders are propelled back and forth, high above the waterline and dangling 50m above the ocean below. The one-of-a-kind, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride will have guests feeling the wind in their hair as their view oscillates between the water below and the sky above."
The MSC World America sets sail on 9 April 2025, promising not just adrenaline-pumping experiences but also a host of luxurious amenities. The ship features the World Promenade—a dazzling walkway adorned with LED light displays, top-tier restaurants, and bars.
With over 30 bars, lounges, and dining venues, guests can indulge in culinary delights while enjoying panoramic views of the ocean. For the adventurous souls, the ship boasts the 'MSC SportPlex' housing bumper cars and a rollerskating arena.
But the excitement doesn't end there. MSC prioritizes environmental sustainability, incorporating lower-emission fuels and renewable energy sources to minimize its impact on the planet. Shore power connectivity reduces emissions in ports, while smart technology ensures energy and water conservation without compromising guest comfort.
A robust onboard recycling program further reduces waste, while noise-reducing propellers protect marine life, showcasing MSC's commitment to eco-friendly cruising.
Embark on this extraordinary journey, albeit at a price, with a 14-night Caribbean cruise starting at £1,939 per person. Departing from Miami on the USA's east coast, the MSC World America promises an unforgettable blend of thrill, luxury, and environmental responsibility.
