A Heart-Stopping Moment: Skiers Hold on Tight as 60mph Winds Rock Cable Cars

Despite the terrifying ordeal, resort operator Cervino Spa confirmed that all passengers safely reached the upper station, thanks to the swift action of their team. Experienced skier Stephanie Burt shared her harrowing experience, describing it as the "most frightening" moment of her life. She recalled how she and her friend Barnaby Dunning were literally hanging on as the winds played havoc with the cable cars.

Stephanie recounted, "Our bottoms were off the seats, we were holding onto the front bubble and literally swinging in midair." She credits her survival to Barnaby's strength and their decision not to attempt jumping to safety, a testament to the intense fear and uncertainty they faced.

President Federico Maquignaz praised the quick response of their team in managing the crisis, highlighting the unpredictable nature of mountain weather and the importance of safety protocols during such extreme situations.
