Palworld Achieves Record-Breaking Player Numbers, Surpassing Counter-Strike on Steam
In a remarkable feat this Tuesday, Palworld reached an impressive milestone with 1,864,421 players all enjoying the game at the same time, according to SteamDB, an independent tracker for Steam data. This incredible achievement has propelled Palworld to new heights, even surpassing the iconic Counter-Strike, which hit its peak at 1,818,773 concurrent players back in May 2023.
Now sitting proudly as the second-highest game for concurrent players on Steam, Palworld is just behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, holding the record with 3,257,248 players, set in January 2018.
The team at Pocketpair, both developers and publishers of Palworld, expressed their sincere thanks for the overwhelming support from players: “We're so grateful for all of you joining us in the game, even on a weekday! Our team is dedicated to making your gaming experience even better.”
In a mere four days since its launch, Palworld has soared in sales, exceeding an impressive six million copies sold, as reported by Pocketpair. The early access version of Palworld is available for both PC and Xbox players, and it's also accessible through Game Pass for added convenience.
Palworld is labeled as an "action-adventure survival game," inviting players into a world of battles, where they can capture Pals for various uses like base building and exploration, and dive into intense combat scenarios.
However, it's not all smooth sailing for Palworld. Some critics have raised eyebrows at the game's monster designs, noting strong similarities to Pokémon. This has sparked discussions about potential similarities, with accusations of more than just inspiration.
